Green Initiative
As the State of Quintana Roo continues to modernize, widespread environmental efforts are in full swing to complement the rapid regional growth.
In nearby Isla Mujeres, an area that was once an eyesore for the island of has now been transformed into a modern waste management facility.
The new building is fully functional for municipal garbage collectors use, being outfitted with laundry, showers and a dining room, while the hopper will be used to optimize disposals.
Community News
The government of Tulum, headed by Mayor Diego Castañón, is working to reinforce security throughout the municipality as part of the progress toward a safer municipality.
In April, construction of surveillance installations began over the municipality’s busy highway system. Since then, several arches have been erected, outfitted with security cameras capable of reading license plates.
The Government of Tulum also announced this month working the construction of a new naval station. The Type A Advanced Naval Station site, a property of around 1,200 hectares, will be built on property near the Tulum International Airport.
