Happy end of summer to the Aflora tribe! As we march towards our new launch date of February 2023 we take special care to utilize this time to refine each space of Aflora. Working hand-in-hand with RUMBA HOSPITALITY, we have been adding many operational improvements as well as optimizing logistics and maintenance areas.

With our delivery dates approaching, we are also heavily focused on preparing our Post Sales Team who will soon be reaching out to individual investors to assist their closing processes.

Construction Progress

We are very close to finalizing the preparations for finishes in the Loft Village and first Luxury Villa as we detail walls, installations, and sheetrock support structures. Both structures have been primed to receive their exterior finish of COREV, an extremely durable impermeable mineral-based composite. As we begin interior finishes we are thrilled to see our timeless and organic designs come to life.

With the Magic Apartment Towers reaching their final levels we begin work on the penthouse-level pools and roof gardens. Standing at their full height, our Penthouse units boast spectacular jungle views, some of which even feature the iconic Tulum Archaeological Ruins which can be seen from a distance to the east of Aflora.

Now that our our Lobby, Co-working space, and Panza are nearly finalized, we focus our efforts on the Wellness Tower and Bathhouse. This month we also continue intensive excavations of our natural pools surrounding the Bathhouse, creating swimmable bodies of water up to 4 meters deep. This depth increase will allow us to take advantage of the natural currents of subterranean aquifers to naturally filter water and reduce maintenance.

Green Initiative

With an increase in the frequency of accumulations of Sargassum on our crystalline beaches, local efforts are manifesting to minimize the negative impacts of the naturally occurring seagrass. Cancun based firm Dianco is the most recent of many organizations to turn their focus to finding solutions by creating organic fertilizer from the collected Sargassum. The process, which is designed to satisfy industrial demand, also reclaims 95% of the sand collected in the process to restore local beaches.

This month state agencies carried out the installation of 600 of the 2,350 meter floating sargassum barrier designed to protect Tulum’s beaches against the seasonal influx of seagrass. The barrier, in addition to specialty water vessels and clean up crews, will be an integral element in preserving the cristaline water and white sands that help make Tulum a world-class destination.

As work on Tulum’s new International Airport continues, inauguration has been moved to May of 2024 to integrate additional elements of the massive project including a military airbase that will assist in national security and wildfire prevention.

The Tulum International Airport, a project estimated at 3.2 billion pesos has been expanded to include a military airbase that will assist in national security and wildfire prevention. The complex, which will link to the Maya Train rail network and is designed to serve an estimated 4 million passengers annually, is to be inaugurated in May of 2024.
